FA Cup 15/1/2008 - Reading vs Tottenham Hotspur

Another mouth-watering live commentary and play by play awaits us tonight in the FA Cup match between Reading and Tottenham Hotspur at the Madejski Stadium. While the two sides fought to a 2-2 draw in the first meeting, this game promises to provide even more fireworks as the home side Reading seeks to avenge their 6-4 thrashing at the hands of Spurs in the English Premier League (EPL) a few weeks ago. This is the third meeting between Reading and Spurs in about a month and all matches have seen goals, no doubt this one will too but Reading has tightened up their backline quite a bit and so has Spurs with the return of their defensive lynchpin Ledley King. Coppell has also shaken up his first team players after that horrible 6-4 reverse by leaving them out of the FA Cup game and hopefully that has woken them up. Reading needs their players to play hard and tight to have a better chance of staying in the EPL in a more comfortable manner instead of being dragged into the relegation battle. Meanwhile, Juande Ramos seems to be slowing getting results for his methods and while Spurs have continued scoring goals, they are also leaking less although concentration levels at the back still fail them from time to time. The only sore point would seem to be the number of players Ramos wants out of the club but until he gets new and better players in, he has to make do with the likes of Lee Young Pyo and Chimbonda, not to mention Younnes Kaboul who is a right joke of a player. You wonder what the Spurs management were thinking when they bought this guy without consulting Martin Jol and that is assuming Jol was not involved since most of Spurs' transfer movements seem to be headed that way.

While we await the action to unfold in the live commentary and radio broadcast of this FA Cup game between Reading and Tottenham Hotspur, take note that this is one of three FA Cup games tonight to feature Premier League sides, the other two being Liverpool vs Luton Town and another one involving Derby whom we aren't that interested in since they are still struggling under Paul Jewell. Hopefully that game doesn't turn out to be action packed like the first time those two sides met, and the action comes in the live telecast of Reading and Tottenham Hotspur instead.
