Carling Cup 9/1/2008 - Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur

As if a live football commentary wasn't enough, there will definitely be a live telecast of the Carling Cup semi final between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur. This will be a great commentary and live football match as it represents the fierce North London derby between two traditional rivals that go at each other's throats whenever they meet. And it would represent a curious look at what each team has to offer.

Arsenal will once again start Eduardo the red hot Brazilian (oh wait he's Croatian now) who can't stop scoring right now. All the pre-match talk has centred on Eduardo but everyone should start looking at what team Arsene Wenger intends to field. He has said again it would be a young team. Yes, but his first team is young too. Then again, his Arsenal reserve team doesn't seem too different from the first. Still, key defender Toure will be missing and in his place you have the bumbling Philip Senderos who is surprising many by being still at Highbury. Well, I guess Wenger isn't perfect - can't find a cheaper and better alternative in the transfer market. It could be William Gallas who might be fielded in partnership with Senderos. Who knows really?

Spurs is just waiting to self-destruct once more. Ramos doesn't know what transfers are taking place. He doesn't even know who he (or the club) is buying. Berbatov wants to go but lies to the Spurs fans and public about how much he loves Spurs and would not stay. England star Jermaine Defoe is now surplus to requirements (and he used to be a Manchester United target) and refuses to leave. Why should he? He could just stay there and juggle balls (or balloons) with Danielle Lloyd. And Paul Robinson looks back to his error-ridden ways after an Indian summer during Ramos' early reign. Can you just imagine the shame and humiliation these players must be facing right now when the commentators on the live football commentary start making remarks?

One team can't defend. Another has missing key defenders. One team has great attacking flair. Wait, actually that's both teams. I'm sure you can see where this is headed. Plentiful goals that's where. And you simply have to salivate with the live commentary and telecast that's just waiting to burst out your TV screen. I don't have HD, but you guys who do, god am I jealous. Somehow, I still miss the live radio of football matches in the past on BBC. They still have it, but I rarely get the time to catch the games and watching live sports on TV is simply too convenient instead of plastering your ears to the radio. Visuals make a whole lot of difference although to be honest, live football radio catches the atmosphere way better. Trust me, try it out yourself.
