EPL 19/1/2008 - Fulham vs Arsenal

Now this could be a huge huge potential upset tonight in this live commentary and play by play English Premier League (EPL) match between home side Fulham and away team Arsenal. Arsenal has been sputtering to some average results recently, one moment brilliant, the next mediocre. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was absolutely livid last weekend when his team only managed to draw Birmingham at home despite almost total dominance and he attributed it to a lack of urgency and a very disappointing complacent attitude. Now could it be a case of the young Gunners starting to get arrogant and forgetting how they got to their lofty position in the first place - through hard work and a sense of belief that they have been disrespected and undermined? They have to continue with that attitude and work hard and not let other teams off the hook otherwise the only team that will win the EPL this season would be Manchester United, and not the brilliant young team with flair and fantasy from the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal faces a whole host of missing players in this live commentary EPL match today including Robin Van Persie whom Wenger admitted was rushed back too fast. Wenger doesn't usually make too many mistakes but this one might be crucial to the fate of the EPL title. Adebayour continues to shoulder most of the scoring burden as Fabregas and the rest of the midfield look to regain their early season scoring touch. It could also be Van Persie's jinxed mouth where he was boasting and crowing about the team's path to glory this season - sometimes the young Dutch striker's cocksure attitude can get in the way but you cannot deny his scoring ability. If only he was not injured.

Fulham did not get off to a good start under new manager Roy Hodgson but you cannot blame the man too much even though he is a manager who promotes boring and safety first football. He inherited a team that is not far from being your next Championship side but you never know what the return of Jimmy Bullard might bring. The guy is your livewire in midfield, not that skilful like other EPL visionaries but certainly a strong enforcer and players you need to have to ensure scrapping to survival each season in the EPL. We can only see if they can cause an upset at home in Craven Cottage against Arsenal in this live commentary and play by play game, although I anticipate Arsenal just scrapping to a one goal win and we should see some goals tonight and over the total.
