EPL 19/1/2008 - Tottenham Hotspur vs Sunderland

Sunderland won last week to offer their fans some hope, but this will be all but wiped out tonight in this live commentary and play by play game between English Premier League sides Tottenham Hotspur and Sunderland. Sunderland can do all they can to spoil the flow tonight with Roy Keane's usual tactics but you can be sure Spurs prima donna Berbatov will pull something out of his bag of tricks and Robbie Keane to provide the finishing touches. Tom Huddlestone will also return to the team and he has showed some nice touches as well as a couple of goals. This looks like a foregone conclusion with Sunderland not having a glimmer of a hope against one of the best attacking sides in the English Premier League.

But you never know what such a live commentary match might offer Sunderland. If they can exploit and take advantage of Spurs' habitual momentary lapses of concentration, they might be able to score a couple and pull off an upset result like a draw or even better a win. But that is only if they can put players in position to score - unfortunately they do not have many players of that calibre but maybe Kieran Richardson can. Or they can secretly hope that Ramos gives Paul Robinson a reprieve and plays him a goal, so he can let in a goal or two for Sunderland's sake but Ramos is not dumb he would not risk his career for that.

That said, Sunderland is a team built to destroy and spoil the opponent's flow, so I actually do not expect too many goals in this game, probably just hitting the total or going under. It might not make for a pretty live commentary or live tv telecast of a football game but Sunderland is only looking to survive in the EPL and not trying to make a name for themselves as a pretty team to watch so damage limitation will be the order of the day and for football fans in general.
