African Nations Cup 7/2/2008 - Ivory Coast vs Egypt Match Highlights

In a shock African Nations Cup result which has left the world stunned, overwhelming tournament favourites Ivory Coast was booted out in incredible fashion and amidst dramatic scenes by Egypt. Star players Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou were left in tears as they left the field arguing with officials and the Egyptian players who had a strange after goal celebration of kneeling in a huddle and offering their prayers. This might have wasted time and made Ivory Coast angry, but no doubt about it, when you start to believe your own hype, you are open to failure, as Salomon Kalou has probably found out by now from these highlights.

Ivory Coast were overconfident and arrogant, thinking that it was their destiny to win the cup. However, no game is won before the full time whistle is blown, and Ivory Coast has always had a history of failure. Egypt on the other hand are on the path to winning the African Nations Cup for the second successive tournament although they might do well not to underestimate their final opponent Cameroon whom they trounced 4-2 in their first group game.
