EPL 13/1/2008 - Sunderland vs Portsmouth

Now, I'm sure there are many waiting for a live commentary and play by play of this EPL 13/1/2008 game between Sunderland vs Portsmouth, because there are at least more than 50,000 soccer fans from each area even though most soccer fans in the world do not really know these teams and when they try to find out, it is mostly for a match analysis or preview so that they would know the odds of each team. Now we all know Sunderland will make a quick return to the Championship, and if you are still doubtful of that and dreaming that Roy Keane can provide a miracle, think again just check out what happens during the live commentary it will be a sordid affair with Sunderland struggling to make any attack of note and defending like your Grade 3 students (not that there aren't any good kids around but you get the drift). What about Portsmouth? They still have their favorite manager in Harry Redknapp who decided not to drink from the poison chalice and stay at the south coastal team so that he could walk his dogs in peace. Now that was the key reason provided each time when news of him tied to the Newcastle job was reported, before he said he couldn't bear to leave his team that he built at Portsmouth. That perhaps explains why he is happy with mid table results and the occasional European appearance or two. And probably why they can't do much at home, can't score, can't defend, maybe all the players had a long night out walking the dogs. But away aha! That's where they are a different team altogether. Harry Redknapp has more focus and the team plays fluid attacking soccer although you wonder how the many players missing due to African Nations Cup would affect them. Just find out during a live commentary and radio telecast of the game.

This would be a straightforward match analysis and preview of Sunderland vs Portsmouth except that one team really needs the points while the other is just playing to stay in mid-table in the English Premier League.
