EPL 2/2/2008 - Wigan vs West Ham United

In all honesty, not many people would be interested in this live commentary and play by play soccer match in the English Premier League between Wigan and West Ham United except for their fans, but because I am all for fans of any club that have real soccer fans instead of fairweather wagon hoppers, I will showcase this encounter between the two "W"'s. In fact, Wigan even has England internationals plying their trade in their team and it was someone whom I made a hilarious reference to earlier - Emile Heskey. He has defied all belief to be named in Fabio Capello's provisional England squad and it would be interesting to see if he gets included in the final 23. Wigan manager Steve Bruce is also looking to slowly put in his own methodology in the Wigan team as he looks to change to a two man strikeforce, clearly smelling blood for this game as Wigan look to get some much needed points with a win over West Ham United, since this is a game that will be at Wigan's home.

West Ham United on the other hand are riding hand and on the back of Alan Curbishley's brilliant tactics and managerial ability after a resounding win over Liverpool in a live commentary and radio broadcast game in midweek in the English Premier League. They are also defensively strong and resolute and do not concede many goals home or away. In fact, if you were not a West Ham fan, you would not realise that your team is now no different from a Charlton Athletic of the past before they were cruelly relegated after Curbishley's departure. It is amazing as well given the number of injuries that West Ham have accumulated with many of their transfer buys getting crooked after playing just one game or not having even set foot on field. Their results away from home have also been impressive but it is results at home that have set the English Premier League alight with amazing upsets over Manchester United and now Liverpool, although the latter is not much of an upset anymore given the state Liverpool is in.

This live commentary and TV telecast soccer match between Wigan and West Ham United in the English Premier League is hard to call as both teams will be defensively solid and Wigan is trying to stave off relegation and West Ham are hard to break down. The most sensible choice would be that this game will end in a draw with little goals to look out for and that is another reason why no soccer fan would really care for this match and in fact it looks just like one suited for the lower divisions and not the English Premier League. On the other hand, the two teams are in the English Premier League so this live commentary and radio broadcast soccer game between Wigan and West Ham should still generate some interest but mostly from fans of both clubs.
