Liverpool managed to squeeze out their first win of the season since Boxing Day when they finally overwhelmed Sunderland at Anfield, but not before looking no different from the lowly English Premier League team in the first half, and also for parts of the second. Liverpool look decidedly out of sorts and a team short of confidence, but as always, need to score before they would show any urgency or ideas, which is a worrying problem since Benitez took over. No doubt about it Benitez has some nifty ideas of his own, but the man is not a motivator and when your team is in a rut, you need to be able to inspire your team to victory and he can't.
